Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

By creating an account, subscribing, or using plus.directory, the Directory Plus browser editor, the Directory Plus Figma plugin, or any related service (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

• "Service" — the Directory Plus editor, Figma plugin, website, API, and related software.
• "Assets" — the mockup templates, scenes, video scenes, tracking data, thumbnails, and other creative content we make available.
• "Your Content" — the artwork, logos, images, and designs you upload to or place within the Service.
• "Output" — a rendered image or video produced by combining Your Content with an Asset.
• "Library": the personal storage included with a Plus subscription, where you can save Your Content, Output, and studio animations and poses. See Section 18.

3. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide a valid email address and are responsible for all activity under your account. Accounts are for a single user; sharing your credentials or access with others is not permitted. You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract in your country of residence.

4. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

• Available plans (currently a monthly plan and a 6-month plan) and their prices are shown at checkout and on plus.directory/subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term, and you retain access until then. If you have a Library, it is permanently deleted 15 days after your subscription ends, and your render history with it (Section 18).
• Applicable taxes (including VAT) are added as required by law.
• Right of withdrawal (consumers). Where you are a consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days. By starting to use the Service during that period, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once we have begun providing the Service. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law and our Refund Policy.

5. Licence to use the Assets and Output

Subject to your active plan and continued payment, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

• use the Assets within the Service to create Output; and
• use the resulting Output in your own and your clients' commercial and personal projects (for example presentations, marketing materials, and product pages).

This is a licence to use the Assets, not to own them. You may not sell, sublicense, or redistribute the Assets themselves, or the raw mockup files, and you may not offer Output for resale as a standalone template, asset, or mockup-generation product. Modifying the Assets with AI or any other tool does not create a new original work free of our rights: such versions remain derivative works of the Assets and are licensed, if at all, only under this section.

Extended & commercial licences. The licence above applies for as long as your plan is active. Some uses need an extended licence — for example reselling templates, or larger-scale or ongoing commercial campaigns. For these, a Commercial or Commercial Plus licence can be purchased per asset on mockups.directory, and active Plus subscribers receive 30% off those commercial licences. A Commercial Plus licence may be required for organisations with 21 or more employees. Those one-off purchases are governed by the mockups.directory Terms of Service and its licence definitions, which are the source of truth for licence scope and prevail in the event of any inconsistency.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to permit or enable any third party to:

• download, scrape, mirror, harvest, or bulk-export the Assets or the catalogue, or access them other than through the interfaces we authorise;
• redistribute, resell, sublicense, share, or publicly post the Assets or the raw mockup files;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or de-obfuscate any part of the Service, or attempt to derive its source code, algorithms, or data formats, except where this restriction cannot be excluded under applicable law;
• circumvent, disable, or interfere with any access control, licence check, watermark, rate limit, or security feature of the Service;
• process the Assets or Output through AI or other automated tools in order to remove, alter, or reconstruct the underlying mockup scenes — for example inpainting away a screen design to obtain a clean scene, restyling or regenerating a scene, or using the Assets as training data, prompts, or image-to-image inputs to produce substitutes for them. AI-altered versions of the Assets remain derivative works of the Assets: altering an image with AI does not remove or weaken our copyright in it, and no rights are granted in such material;
• use the Service, or any know-how obtained from it, to build or operate a competing product or service;
• access the Service by automated means (bots or scripts) other than through APIs we expressly provide; or
• upload Content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the rights to use;
• use the Service or your Output to create, host, or promote material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that depicts or incites violence; or
• use the Assets, the catalogue, or any Output to train, fine-tune, or develop any machine-learning or generative-AI model, or to build a dataset for that purpose.

7. Intellectual property

• The Service and the Assets are our exclusive property and are protected by copyright, trade-secret, and other laws. No rights are granted to you except the limited licence set out in Section 5.
• You retain all rights in Your Content. You grant us a limited licence to process, store and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to render your Output, or to keep the encrypted files you save to your Library). We do not claim ownership of Your Content or of your Output.
• Rendering takes place primarily in your browser; we do not retain Your Content beyond what is necessary to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. The only copies of Your Content we keep are the files you choose to save to your Library. They are encrypted on your device before they reach us, and we cannot open them.
• Your responsibility for Your Content. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for what you create with the Service. You represent and warrant that you own, or hold all necessary rights and permissions to, any artwork, logos, trademarks, brand elements, photographs, fonts, or other material you place into a mockup, and that your Output and its use do not infringe the intellectual-property, trademark, trade-dress, personality, or other rights of any third party. We do not review or monitor Your Content and are not responsible for it.
• Feedback. If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them to improve the Service, with no obligation or compensation to you.
• Indemnity. You will indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your Output, or your breach of these Terms — except to the extent a claim arises from the unmodified Assets as provided by us.

8. Privacy & data protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains the personal data we process (such as your email for login, your Stripe billing data, and your Shopify purchase status) and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Shopify (accounts and purchases), Stripe (payments), Bunny (asset delivery and Library storage), and Resend (transactional email). Your use of the Service may also be subject to their terms.

10. Availability & changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Disclaimers

The Service and the Assets are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. This does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be excluded.

Beta features

Some features are labelled beta, currently including video mockups and video rendering. Beta features are provided for evaluation, may change or be withdrawn at any time, and may not work reliably in every environment. Beta features are excluded from any availability expectations set out elsewhere in these Terms.

Rendering and your environment

Rendering happens locally in your browser. Rendering speed, stability and output quality therefore depend on your hardware and software environment, including your device, graphics capability, memory, operating system, browser and available media codecs. We cannot guarantee that every mockup, and in particular video mockups, will render on every setup.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, or under applicable product-liability law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, including any of the prohibited conduct in Section 6. You may stop using the Service at any time; paid terms are handled as set out in Section 4. When your subscription ends or your access is terminated, your Library is deleted as set out in Section 18.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Where you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, and any mandatory consumer-jurisdiction rules continue to apply.

16. Dispute resolution

Informal negotiations. Before starting any arbitration or court proceeding, you and we agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days by contacting hi@mockups.directory.

Binding arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved, it will be finally settled by binding arbitration before a single arbitrator under the rules of the European Court of Arbitration. The seat of arbitration is Berlin, Germany; the proceedings may be conducted in English or German; and German law applies.

No class actions. Disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis; class, collective, or representative proceedings are not permitted.

Exceptions. Disputes concerning intellectual-property rights, allegations of theft, piracy, or unauthorised use, and applications for injunctive or other equitable relief are excluded from arbitration and may be brought before the courts. Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory consumer rights you have, including any right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of habitual residence.

17. Acceptable use and fair-use monitoring

Plus exists for real design work: rendering designs you created, or have the rights to use, onto our mockups. The following are not permitted:

• Bulk or automated harvesting of mockup scenes, including scripted downloading and rendering large numbers of mockups with placeholder designs (for example a blank, solid or black image) in order to obtain clean scenes;
• Circumventing rate limits or other technical protections;
• Any use intended to reproduce the mockup library itself rather than to present your own work.

We monitor usage patterns for these behaviours. Rendering may be paused temporarily when activity looks automated, and accounts that repeatedly breach this section may be suspended. Rendered files may include an embedded licence marker identifying the render and the account that produced it.

Output produced in breach of this section is not licensed under section 5, and no rights are granted in it.

18. Your Library

What it is. Plus includes a personal Library: storage for the designs, renders, animations and poses you save in Directory Plus. It is free with your Plus subscription, it is for your own use, and it cannot be shared.

Encryption. Files are encrypted on your device before they reach us. Only you can open them, with your passkey, your password or your recovery key. We cannot open, read or restore them.

Your keys are yours to keep. If you lose your passkey, your password and your recovery key, your Library cannot be opened again. We cannot recover it for you, and we cannot reset your password.

Not a backup. The Library is a convenience of the Service. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limits. 10 GB per subscriber and 500 MB per file. We may change these limits for new files, with notice.

When your subscription ends. Your Library stays available to open and download from for 15 days after your subscription ends. After that, every file in it is permanently deleted: renders, uploads, animations and poses. Deletion cannot be undone. If you subscribe again within those 15 days, nothing is deleted.

Your render history. The list of your past renders in your account, and the scene that reopens each one, is deleted at the same time. For renders that carry a Commercial License, we keep a record of the licence: what was rendered, when, and under which licence, without any picture of your artwork.

What you can take with you. You can download your renders and the designs you uploaded at any time while your Library is available. Animations and poses are settings of the Directory Plus studio: they work only inside it and are not offered as files.

What you store. You are responsible for what you store in your Library. Do not store anything unlawful or anything you have no right to use. Because the files are encrypted we do not review them, but we act on valid notices sent to hi@mockups.directory, and we may suspend or delete a Library that breaches these Terms.

Deleting it yourself. You can delete your Library at any time. Its keys are destroyed at once and its files are removed within 24 hours.
